John Graham

John Graham was born in Perth Western Australia and now lives and paints in Melbourne. John has been exhibiting his paintings and sculpture since 1986 and held numerous group and solo exhibitions.

John’s style is primarily that of an expressionist and his subject has remained the landscape and figure. His works have focused on Feral Cats, Dreams, Elemental Landscapes and Birds – notably Gouldian Finches

He has been a finalist in many Australian Art Prizes – most notably the Waterhouse Art Prize

A keen traveller John has travelled to Africa, India and Southeast Asia on many occasions.He has been working on a series of travelling watercolour paintings called ‘Paintings from the Road” since 1987.These works are executed during his travels and always reflect the immediate environment.

A self admitted “Obsessive Collector” John has amassed a considerable collection of Ethnographic art from his travels.This passion inspires his own work but also directs his choice of travel destination.
